The idea of "growing" our world sustainably...."These are handmade bridges grown by the tribes from the aerial roots of living rubber tree or Ficus elastic, which is found along the river valleys of the mountain slopes of this region. The pliable tree roots are trained to grow across a gap, weaving in sticks and stones, until they take root on the other side of river bank. This process takes up to fifteen years to become fully functional and thrive for 500 to 600 years. The roots stabilize the banks of the rivers, as well as provide an easy way to cross it."
